Min Wang

Chairwoman

As well as being Chairwoman of Hengyi, Min Wang serves as the Chairwoman of the Shandong HYI (Group) Co. Ltd. She has an MBA from Beijing University and serves as honorary president of Weifang Charity Federation and Weifang Female Calligrapher Association. Min Wang is a highly accomplished corporate manager, and has received a great deal of media coverage for her successful work.

Jeff Wang

Director

Jeff is an experienced project manager, working in residential, retail and commercial developments since 2005. He has managed a number of sizeable projects for Shandong HYI, fulfilling a key role across design, finance, project and construction management. His experience is crucial to Hengyi delivering its projects in Australia.

Lu Xing

Director

Lu has worked in project management for residential, commercial and industrial development since 1994. In her role with BHP International Division she was involved with successful projects in Hong Kong, Singapore, China and Australia. In 2000, she established the Eastberry Group in Melbourne. Her experience and attributes enable her to deliver the best results on time and on budget.

Elizabeth Scott

General Manager (NZ)

Liz has worked in the area of asset management and property related development for the past 20 years in both a primary industry and urban development capacity. Liz has worked in corporate, SME, NGO, and government environments, and across all aspects of project delivery and management. Liz holds a B.For.Sci (hons) and PG Diploma in Business (Property). Liz is responsible for the establishment and management of Hengyi’s operations in New Zealand.

Simon Manley

General Manager

Graduating with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Construction Management) as well as a Diploma in Building Design (Technology), Simon started his career working in contract admin support within the volume residential housing sector.

Moving into commercial fit-out and refurbishment Simon was propelled into the fast pace environment of project delivery. Simon managed projects for commercial, government and private clients. His experience on the contractor’s side would assist with building the foundation of knowledge ‘from the beginning’ that would set him up for his progression in the property and construction industry.

Many years later, Simon moved into client-side project management, where he was responsible for the delivery of complex construction projects ranging from boutique and large scale apartment projects, luxury homes and digital advertising for one of Australia’s most prominent advertising groups.

Simon has been involved in every Hengyi project since the company was formed in 2010 and been an integral part of the success of these projects past and present.

Simon’s current primary role is to oversee the operation of the Melbourne office. He is responsible for the overall delivery of projects and acquisitions and is the day to day manager of staff and the office.

Matt Walton

Senior Development Manager

Having completed a Master of Business (Property) and Bachelor of Applied Science (Construction Management) Matt has extensive experience in feasibility modelling, design management, value management, project delivery, financial management and cost reporting.

Having worked at tier 1 & 2 construction companies earlier in his career Matt gained an in-depth understanding of the entire construction process prior to moving into the development space. Matt has delivered numerous high-density residential and mixed-use projects and has a thorough knowledge of acquisitions, town planning, project sales & marketing, delivery and settlements. Matt has proven credentials across the full lifecycle of projects & is currently managing both the acquisitions and delivery of Hengyi’s current & future projects.

Lilian Zhao

Financial Controller

A Certified Professional Accountant, Lilian earned a master’s degree in Commerce from the University of Sydney.

Lilian previously held a variety of finance and accounting positions with multinational companies in China and Australia. With over 12 years of experience in financial planning, budgeting and analysis, she has worked closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver business results.

Lilian is responsible for financial compliance and management reporting.

Elsie Ma

Contract Coordinator

Elsie is a graduate of The University of Melbourne, with a Postgraduate Degree in Construction Management and an Undergraduate Degree in Planning and Design. Since joining Hengyi, Elsie has been actively involved from early-stage works of project due diligence, contract administration, through to project settlements. Elsie is building her knowledge and experience with moving into Capital Management and Public Funds.

Cheryl Chen

Research and Marketing Officer

Possessing both Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Property and Valuation, Cheryl brings a world of property knowledge and expertise to the Hengyi Team since 2014. With her involvement in broader variety of projects during different development stages. Cheryl provides support for the development and management team which include market research and analysis, feasibility studies for acquisitions, and due diligence. Other elements of Cheryl’s role include project marketing, sales launches, strategy, and public relations. Cheryl loves the impact she and her colleagues are making on Melbourne’s cityscape, not to mention the communities they are creating.

Rebecca Stewart

Office Manager / Project Support

With over a decade of experience in administration, sales and customer service, Rebecca manages and facilitates the day to day operation and running of the office. Rebecca has a strong focus on efficiency and time management that she implements with organizing corporate functions and events, as well as providing support for different elements of our projects and assets.

Chen Ting

Assistant Development Manager

Having completed a Bachelor of Civil Engineering, Chen commenced his career as a structural engineer. Through this role, Chen developed a passion for the property industry and transitioned across into development management.
Through his varied experience across a range of asset classes, Chen has gained a detailed understanding of feasibility modelling, stakeholder management, project delivery and project management. Chen is currently delivering Hengyi’s existing projects and is actively involved in securing future opportunities.

Sophie Sorrentino

Bookkeeper

Sophie joined the Hengyi team in 2018 as our company bookkeeper. In this role, Sophie ensures the day-to-day accounting processes & financial transactions are recorded and reconciled accurately on a timely basis. Prior to her role at Hengyi, Sophie has held diverse accounting roles within a variety of industries including manufacturing, retail, tertiary and transport. Her education credentials include a Bachelor of Business from Swinburne University with majors in Accounting and Business Law as well as an Associate Diploma in Business Accounting completed at NMIT. Sophie’s experience also includes sessional teaching of accounting subjects at Victoria University’s TAFE Campuses where her effective communication, sharing knowledge and working well with others are values essential to her role at Hengyi.
